Infinium Logistics Solutions (ILS) has helped ByBox, a global field service inventory management company with the UKs largest B2B network of secure locations, identify new locations to support their continued roll out of smart lockers.
Working with the ILS network of car park operators and real estate landlords, a number of locations were identified for the placement of ByBox lockers, which have been installed to help with the continued growth of the network. ByBox currently delivers over 30 million critical parts a year in the UK to field engineers for some of the country’s biggest names.
Throughout 2020, ILS analysed hundreds of locations including multi storey, basement and surface car parks and other locations within the leisure and hospitality sector. Key factors such as good security, lighting and ease of access would make way to a suitable proposed location.
ILS Urban Logistics Lockers Channel Director, Jonathan White said, “Following the initial analysis and site surveys, over 50 sites have become live with the installation of battery operated smart lockers and further locations are awaiting dates. In addition, we have completed a further 170 site surveys throughout the UK that ByBox have taken an interest in.”
Andy Crees, Director of Global Operations for ByBox commented, “Our customers demand the very best, every day. To speed up fix times and to increase engineer productivity we aim to have a locker less than 3 miles away from every engineer’s home or place of work. This extensive network is critical, and it continues to evolve as customer demand changes. Infinium plays a key role supporting the development of our network, enabling us to support our customers proactively.”
ILS has also helped ByBox with network development opportunities in Europe and North America.
