Infinium Logistics Solutions (ILS) has signed an agreement with the Canary Wharf Group for a new Hyperlocal Logistics Centre situated within Westferry Circus Car Park, London E14.
ILS will transform an area of the car park over the next four weeks in readiness to welcome new clients operating within the first and final mile deliver sector. The initial plan for the centre includes the creation of secure areas and electrical charging infrastructure to park and charge cargo bikes. The location will also be used to consolidate first mile collections that are routed for local final mile delivery.
ILS Channel Director Amarjit Pall said “I am delighted with this new location. Canary Wharf is ideally situated to serve businesses and residents in an area that continues to expand. We know that our clients are happy too, as 40% of the space has already been reserved. Our Hyperlocal Logistics Centres support the current problems of air pollution within urban areas. The locations that we develop will result in an improved infrastructure to support additional cargo bike fleets and other electric vehicles to operate, which will result in lower carbon emissions and cleaner air.”
ILS offers a complete turnkey solution for businesses. With flexible terms and an all-inclusive package with no capex upfront fee (subject to T&C’s), it makes it an attractive proposition to support this growing sector. The end result allows businesses a faster route to commence operations from viewing a location, selecting the required space, walking through the services that will be operated and agreeing to the terms. ILS also support businesses with cargo bike rental schemes and other associated services.
Future development of the Canary Wharf location will include the design and installation of business fulfilment areas to suit Dark Stores and retail e-fulfilment), allowing fast moving stock to be stored, picked, packed and despatched.
ILS will shortly announce two additional Hyperlocal Logistics Centres in central London, plus one in Barcelona and Paris, with plans to open a total of 176 by the end of 2025.
